As the bursary winner 2016, I created a new body of work specifically for the Pittenweem Arts Festival. The paintings focused on the coastal landscapes of Fife from both sides of the Forth and I was led by my own memories of growing up in Crail and new interpretations I discovered as an adult revisiting some of the places I used to be so familiar with. I was also struck by how little I really knew about the area I grew up in and whilst researching the work I was often surprised to find wonderful new discoveries.
